We build energy projects that benefit our communities

NineDot Energy is a market leader, navigating the complex, evolving New York area regulatory, policy and energy landscape to improve the region's electric grid infrastructure

NineDot Energy's projects assist in the transition to more zero-carbon
energy sources

By storing excess energy when available, and providing it back to the grid in times of peak demand, our energy storage projects will reduce local and system peak load, and help avoid outages. We also help improve the grid’s overall efficiency by smoothing and balancing consumer demand with energy generation, especially intermittent resources like solar and wind.

Here's a sampling of our recent projects

Breakthrough storage + solar site

  • In operation, Aug 2023
  • 3 MW / 12MWh

This Bronx battery storage and solar project is operational and providing electricity to the local community at times of peak demand, especially in the summer.

Staten Island battery storage project

  • In Development
  • 5 MW / 20 MWh

NineDot Energy designed and is developing a battery storage project in one of the highest need areas of New York City. The site is currently under construction. We helped the landowner monetize an underutilized lot, which will provide load relief to one of the most stressed substations in this area of Staten Island.

Suffolk County battery storage project

  • In Development
  • 5 MW / 24 MWh

NineDot Energy designed and is developing a battery storage + solar project in a high-need area determined by PSEG-Long Island. We strategically worked with the local land use council and zoning board to ensure the local community has access to cleaner, more resilient energy when the power grid is stressed and dirty.

Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) pilot

  • In operation, July 2022
  • 45 kW / 186 kWh

NineDot Energy worked with partners Revel and Fermata Energy to launch New York City’s first Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) pilot in August 2022. Based at Revel’s Red Hook warehouse, this V2G system feeds energy stored in electric vehicles (EVs) back into the grid during times of peak demand, as informed by Con Edison. We are excited by the potential for V2G to augment the battery energy storage solutions we are building in New York City and surrounding areas.

Fuel cell project

  • In operation, Aug 2022
  • 5 MW

NineDot Energy designed and developed this fuel cell site in the Bronx, bringing a new, efficient source of energy to a high-need area. Fuel cells are an ultra-dense source of baseload clean energy.

This project was purchased by Catamaran Renewables, a key partner of ours.
